General Information

Technology has brought several Innovative means of Learning along with it, which has given us new horizons for learning. I developed a keen interest in the field of Learning Technologies and this influenced me in deciding to study my postgraduate course in Multimedia Communications which provided me with an in depth knowledge of the field of Learning Technologies and of designing Multimedia based interactive learning material for use in ICT and VLE based Education. Learning Technologies module of the course provided me with knowledge of how ICT tools can be used to support teaching and learning.

The experience and skills landed me the job as E-Learning Systems Manager in University of Birmingham where I developed and operated processes to enable the efficient support and management of the University's institutional ICT Strategy and other associated systems and also investigated and implemented new learning and educational technology solutions. Over the course of my job I worked on implementing Blogs, Wikis, Podcasts, Lecture Recording, Streaming and use of Mobile Technology solutions for educational use of the University.

I started working with JISC RSC Southeast as an E-Learning Advisor in January 2008. JISC RSC’s provide advice on how to integrate ICT and eLearning into educational and business activities to learning providers including FE colleges and small HE institutions, Specialist and Sixth Form colleges, Adult Community Learning and Work Based Learning Providers.

In this particular role, I worked as a Specialist Advisor for Higher Education and Technical Infrastructure to provide advise to all public funded post 16 learning providers on behalf of JISC in South East England.

After working in these roles, I consider myself ready to continue pursuing a career in Learning Support to provide educational solutions for the new age as this is something I feel very passionate about. Having looked at the job description, I consider myself to have adequate skills and motivation for the position of Technical Manager position and I am looking forward to an opportunity to present myself for an interview.
