Student Ambassador: 

Supporting events organised by the PDO department to encourage students from under-privileged backgrounds to reach their full potential and see university as a possibility. This involves activities such as campus tours, supporting lead ambassadors and supporting students in a classroom setting.

Educational Support Assistant: 

Work with individuals with special requirements on a one to one basis. Improving and easing their university experience through practical support or other services such as notetaking.

Marketing Officer for UKC Hogwarts:

Organised and promoted events for the UKC Hogwarts society e.g. posters, newspaper articles, managing the Facebook page, which lead to an increase in members by 63%.

Marketing Manager for 'A Wonderful Week of Words' Charity Event:

Developed fundraising strategies to increase awareness of Lumos e.g. designing and distributing promotional material. Secured a grant of £300 to cover expenses. Raised £2000 for the event and engaged the local community, receiving emails requesting to make it an annual event.

Work Experience with Penguin Random House:

Two weeks within the Marketing and Publicity department providing insight into the power of advertising, particularly how typography and colour are key in tailoring designs to match target demographics.

HEI Ambassador:

Giving formal presentations and delivering sessions to prospective students, tailoring presentations to different audiences and time restrictions. Involved giving talks to over 60 people.

Graphic Designer and Marketing at Kent Sport:

Launched their Instagram account and competition with 67 followers within the first week. Created a style guide, posters and leaflets among other graphics projects, using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Also managed their social media outlets through Hootsuite.

Nucleus Arts Work Shadowing:

Shadowed the community engagement manager of Nucleus Arts. Learnt about how the arts can benefit the community and how such events can be organised and advertised.

Work Experience with The Creative Foundation:

Promoted the charity’s Christmas events through social media to engage the community using Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. Learnt how to engage a target audience such as families.

Creative Workshops in Partnership with Stag Coffee Shop:

I contacted local coffee shops and ran free creative workshops for the local community. It was met with success and a positive response and I hope to run some more workshops in the future.
