External Content
In addition to the blog posts you create and files you upload to MyFolio, you may have other content on other web pages you'd like to include in a Page. Some examples of these are photo sharing web sites such as Picasa and Flickr, and video sites like YouTube and Google Video. The majority of these sites make it easy for you to reuse the content by providing "embed codes", snippets of HTML that, when inserted into a web page such as a MyFolio Page, will display the content from the source website without copying it.
You'll usually find an embed code on the page where you view the content you want to embed; for instance, on YouTube you'll find an embed link in the share options underneath the video you're watching. All you need to do is copy the code and then, in your MyFolio Page (Edit Content mode):
- Select the External tab.
- Drag the External media content block to the Page.
- Give your content a Title.
- Paste your embed code.
- Click the Save button.
Your embedded video or slide show will now be displayed in your Page.
Please note that the External media block will allow embed codes and URLs from the following websites:
- Flickr
- Glogster
- Google Video
- KentPlayer
- Prezi
- SciVee
- SlideShare
- Soundcloud
- TeacherTube
- Vimeo
- VoiceThread
- Voki
- WikiEducator
- YouTube
(If an embed code is not working, please send a post to the MyFolio Support forum so that the team can investigate the issue.)
To embed content from other sources, all you need to do is copy the embed code and then, in your MyFolio Page (Edit Content mode):
- Select the General tab.
- Drag the Text Box content block to the Page.
- Give your content a Title.
- In the Block Content text editor, click on the HTML icon '<>' in the toolbar.
- Paste your embed code.
- Click Update and then Save.
