I learned to prioritise my wellbeing and to take every little step as the biggest achievement.

ELSA Kent is ready for the Summer Law School.

Posted on 12 June 2017, 18:10

Months of preparation are finally bringing results: it is almost time for the first ELSA Summer Law School in the UK. Working on this project has been a challenging experience. We had to go through quality check and plenty of regulation at the initial stage. It is the first time ELSA accepted an application from a local group to host a summer law school. We are expecting 30 participants from all over the globe who have been selected among 107 applicants. Not to mention the academic who will travel from the continent to host a lecture. The academic programme is really diverse, and so is the social and cultural programme.

One of my aims as President of the European Law Student' Association at Kent is to bring students closer to the institutions. I believe there is no better way of learning that giving a sense of reality to what you study. The visit was a success, being so close to Lady Hale was unbelievable! All 20 participants enjoyed the visits, as we attended the final judgment of a case concerning the right to access public transports for people with disabilities.

The national council meeting (NCM) is the main event at the national level. Each ELSA local section send at least three delegate to represent the group, vote on statutes' updates and run for the elections.

ELSA Kent sent a delegation of four members. As President, I couldn't be more enthusiastic of receiving so much attention and respect: we are the committee who is organising the first ELSA Summer Law School in the UK! In the last year, the society has definitely improved. We double the number of members and assured two institutional visits, along with interesting talks with international lawyers and MP.

I decided to take a risk, and I submit my application for the position of VP Seminars and Conferences, this time at the national level.17353359_10212200092540413_2796819923570616553_n.jpg
